After breakfast, visit the nation’s acclaimed educational institution: Cambridge University. Cambridge is where many luminaries started their dreams, with pastoral landscapes, picturesque rivers and architecture. The University of Cambridge, including King’s College and Queens' College, is set among rural bridges. Continue your journey to York, a true medieval melting pot of Roman, Saxon and Viking culture. Visit York Minster, the largest Gothic cathedral in northern Europe. Step up onto York city walls, dating back to Roman times. Wander around and discover grass-roots shops.

After leaving York, head to Edinburgh, Scotland’s compact, hilly capital. Upon arrival, visit Edinburgh Castle, set on a volcanic rock structure, and admire the royal crown and jewellery. Continue with a visit to Holyrood Palace and the City Hall. Optionally, you can visit JK Rowling’s Ivory Café where Harry Potter was authored. After exploring Edinburgh, the coach will drive you onward to Glasgow.

In the morning, drive to the Lake District, located in the west of northern England. Stop in Gretna Green, a village famous for ‘runaway marriages’ since 1754. Continue to the Lake District National Park, the most visited national park in the UK. Choose to join a boat cruise of Lake Windermere or visit the World of Beatrix Potter attraction.
